In its vision on fostering academic collaboration and strengthening volunteerism in the academe, the Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency (PNVSCA) entered a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Camarines Norte State College (CSNC) and the Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges (CSPC) last January 24, 2024, at the Volunteerism Knowledge and Resource Center in PNVSCA office.
This momentous occasion marks the beginning of a strategic partnership to incorporate volunteerism in their educational, research, and community extension programs between the two esteemed institutions. By pooling their resources and expertise, CSPC and CSNC aim to create a synergistic partnership that will benefit students, faculty, and the academic community at large.
Participating in the event are Dr. Marlo M. De la Cruz, President of CNSC and Dr. Amado A. Oliva Jr., President of CSPC. Both conveyed their excitement and confidence in the belief that this collaboration will not only enhance academic connections but also highlight the dedication of these universities to shaping a future in which education goes beyond limits, making a positive global impact.
In his closing remarks, PNVSCA Executive Director Donald James D. Gawe mentioned that the collaboration strives to integrate volunteerism into the academe by actively involving student organizations and alumni associations in volunteer activities. It aims to promote and advocate for volunteering as a means of development, undertake research or studies related to volunteerism, offer technical assistance for volunteerism-related initiatives, and more.
As the partnership unfolds, the academic communities of CSPC and CSNC look forward to reaping the fruits of this collaboration and contributing to a brighter and more interconnected future. CSPC and CSNC are the second and third SUCs in the Bicol Region to sign a partnership with PNVSCA. Present in the activity are Ms. Maribel F. Larracochea, Senior Volunteer Service Officer of PNVSCA, and Dr. Dolores C. Volante, Vice President for Academic Affairs of CNSC, who served as witness.
