PNVSCA paid a courtesy visit to Regional Director Julieta M. Paras of the Commission on Higher Education – National Capital Region (CHED-NCR) on Tuesday, May 09, to discuss possible collaboration on engaging higher education institutions (HEIs) in its effort to establish mechanisms to promote volunteerism as a development strategy and towards the achievement of its vision of a society where volunteerism is a way of life.

PNVSCA has been reaching out to several universities in the country and has already signed partnership agreements with 16 HEIs, four (4) of which are in the NCR. Executive Director Donald James D. Gawe of PNVSCA expressed the agency’s plan to reach out to more universities and colleges in the Region, which RD Paras welcomed. RD Paras also mentioned its plan to issue an Office Order to designate a Volunteer Focal Person in CHED NCR. The meeting is the initial step of collaborative activities between the CHED NCR and the PNVSCA to reach out to all HEIs in the region.
