Dasmarinas, Cavite – The Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency (PNVSCA) and the National College of Science and Technology (NCST) entered a partnership to strengthen and cultivate volunteerism among its students, faculty, and alums. PNVSCA’s Executive Director Donald James D. Gawe and NCST’s President Emerson B. Atanacio led the signing of the memorandum of understanding held on 15 March 2023 at NCST.

As part of the partnership, PNVSCA will work closely with NCST to assess and support Volunteer Focal Persons (VFPs) and staff who have received endorsement from PNVSCA in their application for and training as Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) reservists. Additionally, the two organizations will work together to develop a volunteer-enabling campus where volunteerism and love for the country can positively flourish through the creation of volunteer-engaging events and activities.

PNVSCA Executive Director Donald James D. Gawe commended NCST on its steadfast support, and he also emphasized how to create strategies to use volunteerism as a development strategy effectively.

Moreover, President Atanacio is optimistic that with this collaboration, they can successfully implement their envisioned program, “Heroes Academy,” which aims to inspire youth to volunteer. He also commits to providing all the necessary support for the partnership’s success.

Present to witness in the said activity are NCST Campus Manager Carolina P. Baylen, NCST Executive Assistant to the President Chesca M. Antonio, PNVSCA Officer-in-Charge/Supervising Volunteer Service Officer Kenneth C. Siruelo, Senior Volunteer Service Officer Maribel F. Larracochea, and Volunteer Service Officer II Jeffrey N.
