The Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency (PNVSCA) convened the members of the National Volunteerism Resource Pool (NVRP) for its organizational meeting last 10 August 2021.  The meeting was attended by eighteen (18) members who are volunteerism experts from the Academe, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Volunteer Serving/Involving Organizations (VSOs/VIOs), and independent consultants.

During the meeting, the draft guidelines and terms of reference were presented to seek comments from the members. In addition, the members provided inputs on how to improve the Members’ Profile Form which shall be used by interested experts who want to join the NVRP.

PNVSCA took the occasion to update the NVRP members with their initiatives and regular programs such as the establishment of the Volunteerism Knowledge Management Strategy, crafting of the Philippine Volunteerism Agenda and Framework Plan (PVAFP), mainstreaming of volunteerism in LGUs, NGAs/GOCCs, and HEIs, the deployment of the International Volunteer Service, and lastly the celebration of the National Volunteerism Month. ED Donald Gawe expressed hope that with the NVRP’s help, the PNVSCA will be able to implement all its mandate and be able to respond to all requests of both the public and private sector in setting-up their volunteering programs/initiatives. He emphasized the possible roles that the NVRP will serve in advocating and providing technical assistance in volunteer program establishment and management.

The NVRP is part of the PNVSCA’s initiative to build capacities of the public, business, and civil society organizations on volunteer management towards a more conducive environment for volunteering by tapping volunteer experts in the field.
