In support of the Ka-Sambayanihan Volunteer Program of the National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC), PNVSCA Executive Director Joselito C. De Vera served as one of the panel discussants in the 1st NAPC National CO-CD Conference: Kasambayanihan and PCB Operations Assessment-Planning held at Marand Resort, Bauang, La Union on 5 June 2019.

Director De Vera shared to the more than 170 NAPC local development coordinators and facilitators that PNVSCA’s mandate is to promote volunteerism as a tool for rural development and to coordinate the National Volunteer Service Program (NVSP) which is composed of two (2) services--the international and local volunteer services; the latter is implemented through the Bayanihang Bayan Program, a volunteering platform that promotes public-private partnership similar to NAPC’s Kasambayanihan Volunteer Program. He added that Kasambayanihan is a model for community-based volunteering that propels local development; and implementation of which can provide lessons on management and coordination of local volunteer programs. Director De Vera expressed support to NAPC’s programs and to the extent that PNVSCA can help the Commission.
