The award was a gesture of DepEd’s gratitude and recognition of the important roles the stakeholders play in supporting public education that contributed to the Department’s success in narrowing down most of the educational requirement gaps and hope to keep such momentum to fully address the remaining challenges and constraints.

Assistance to the achievement of Basic Education development goals is one of the major priorities for volunteer assistance advocated by PNVSCA through the National Volunteer Deployment Framework (NVDF). In 2018, 16% or 90 of the 561 of the local & international volunteers deployed in the country in coordination with PNVSCA assisted basic education programs and projects of DepEd schools and NGOs in the areas of Alternative Learning System, Special Education, English, Science and Math and Technical-Vocational Skills, Computer Literacy as well as in the improvement of school facilities such as libraries.

Also recognized in the event was the Organization for Industrial Spiritual Cultural Advancement (OISCA) a PNVSCA registered volunteer service organization for their Children’s Forest Program (CFP).

PNVSCA assures DepEd of its continued support through the promotion and advocacy of volunteer assistance in the Education Sector.
