11 December 2018 DENR confers awards to environment partners

The Department of the Environment and Natural Resources conferred awards to fifty-five (55) organizations which actively participated in their programs and activities last 5 December 2018 at the SEAMEO Innotech, Commonwealth Avenue, Diliman, Quezon City.

Ten (10) government agencies and Government Owned and Controlled Corporations (GOCC), fifteen (15) academic institutions, fourteen (14) Metro Manila local government units, seven (7) Non-Government Organizations (NGO) and nine (9) private companies were recognized.

In his keynote message, Undersecretary Benny Antiporda of the Solid Waste Management, Local Government Units Concerns and Supervising Undersecretary for Strategic Communication and Initiatives Service said that the “spirit of bayanihan is very alive” and thanked the volunteers for the successful environmental conservation efforts such as that of the rehabilitation of Boracay.

Executive Director Joselito De Vera’s inspirational message which was delivered by Ms. Corazon Macaraig, Chief Volunteer Service Officer acknowedged this initiative from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources to recognize the bravery and the selflessness of our volunteers as partners of the government in attaining a Matatag, Maginhawa, and Panatag na Buhay.

With the theme “Boluntarismo: Tugon sa Nagbabagong Panahon”, the awarding ceremony is an activity of DENR in observance of the National Volunteer Month this December.
