The meeting opened with a presentation from Senior Superintendent Rudolph Dimas, Chief of the Public Safety Division of PNP, who discussed the current state of peace and order in the country. The IVSOs had an opportunity to raise security matters and in turn, be informed by Superintendent Dimas that the police force is doing its job of maintaining the safety of not just the volunteers but the whole country as well. Mr. Jonas Tetangco, the outgoing AVID in-country manager, also shared some of the best practices he has learned for the past eleven (11) years. The IVSOs were also given an update regarding the streamlining of volunteer deployment process and Foreign Volunteer Deployment Framework 2017-2022.

PNVSCA reiterated to the IVSOs the importance of aligning their volunteer programs to Philippine Development Plan (PDP) 2017-2022, citing that IVSO volunteer deployment framework shall be their strategic direction in the deployment of volunteer for next five years or until 2022.

The meeting became an avenue to wrap up the year with updates, discussions, and strategies that are geared towards alignment of goals for 2018, most importantly directing the initiatives towards the PDP 2017-2022.
