The 2017 World Friends Korea Host Organizations' Sharing Session was held last October 27 at DusitThani Manila. This year's session was anchored on the theme "Working Together for a Better Community". It was attended by 30 (thirty) local partner institutions (LPI) that comprised of public academic institutions, local government units, and national government agencies.

Mr. Shin MyungSeop, World Friends Korea (WFK) country director, opened the event with a reminder to the LPIs that sharing sessions provide a venue to highlight, strengthen, and enhance their knowledge of the current programs and best practices of other partner institutions. PNVSCA Executive Director Joselito De Vera also gave a talk on volunteerism noting that LPIs should work as hard as the volunteers because the best way of developing a country is to develop their communities. He said that everyone should be looking at the same end result aligned with the Philippine Development Plan 2017-2022.

The sharing session also provided an opportunity to discuss the safety and security of the volunteers, share best practices, and workshops. LPIs share their best practices in terms of project implementation (PGU Ifugao), skills transfer (Leyte Normal University), and safety and security/adaptation (Victorias North ES SPED Center). The workshops also allowed interaction and sharing of insights among the LPIs.
