27 September 2017 2016 SOV Awardee Receives CSC’s Dangal ng Bayan Award

Ryan Homan, 2016 Search for Outstanding Volunteers (SOV) Youth Awardee, was among the public servants recognized by the Civil Service Commission’s Honor Awards Program (HAP) last 20 September 2017 at the Malacañang Palace, Manila.

Mr. Homan, a public school teacher, played a significant role in the re-opening of an elementary School in Bgy. Old Maguisa in Donsol which was closed for more than 10 years. He coordinated with the barangay council to request for the re-opening of the school and served as its volunteer teacher handling Grades 1-4 classes during the school’s first year of resume of operations in 2008.

Driven by his desire to help his barrio folks, he extends his commitment as an educator to his community-oriented volunteer projects such as Balsa Basa Outreach Program, Walk for Knowledge, Nanay Teacher Volunteers, among others.

Currently, Ryan serves Teacher I in San Jose Elementary School and he still actively facilitates various literacy and reading volunteer activities.

CSC’s HAP aims to give recognition and reward state officials and employees for their exemplary contributions in the delivery of public service.
