A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed by the Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency (PNVSCA) with Entrepreneurs du Monde/Worldwide Entrepreneurs (EDM/WE) and Global Initiative for Exchange and Development (GIED) last 14 June 2017 at the PNVSCA office.

The MOA officially recognizes EDM/WE and GIED as partner volunteer sending organizations of the Philippine Government. Present in the ceremony are PNVSCA Executive Director Joselito C. de Vera, Presidential Management Staff Assistant Secretary and Chair of the PNVSCA Multi-Sectoral Advisory Body Atty. Jose Wilfrido S. Oca, Entrepreneurs du Monde’s Country Representative Mr. Benigne Marie Xavier Du Parc and GIED’s President and CEO Ms. Rhenelyn Queen Dadulo.

In his message, Mr. Du Parc said that the Philippines is the second country where France sends most of its volunteers and that the agreement will further strengthen the special link the two countries have. Likewise, Ms. Dadulo stressed that the signing signifies a new beginning not just to GIED but also to its local and international partner organizations. She also said that GIED is looking forward to enable their volunteers to cooperate well with the government.

Assistant Secretary Oca congratulated EDM/WE and GIED and assured that the Philippine Government will work hand in hand with their organizations in the promotion of volunteerism in which he referred to as a unique way of contributing to the development of the country. Director de Vera welcomed the organizations to the Filipino volunteer network where they will provide technical assistance and services to communities in need.

EDM/WE started its program in the Philippines in 2005 and works with local non-government organizations to support tradespeople and craftspeople in the province of Cavite. GIED on the other hand is a non-government and non-profit organization established in 2015 in Cebu City aimed to establish collaborations in building local communities through international volunteer exchange.
