Written by: Rudy Carlos

The Philippine National Volunteer Coordinating Agency (PNVSCA) will conduct an orientation for the twenty-five (25) Volunteers for Information and Development Assistance (VIDAs) from 20 to 24 March 2017 at the Marianne Suites Hotel Inc., Tiano Luna Street, Cagayan De Oro City. Participants are from the Visayas and Mindanao regions.

The five-day learning activity aims to enhance the competencies of the volunteers in assisting development projects at the local level. It will cover topics on the interrelation of volunteerism and development, the National Volunteers Service Program (NVSP), the VIDA program, gender and development, volunteering for the vulnerable sector, and culture in the workplace.

The VIDA is a component of NVSP being implemented and coordinated by the PNVSCA. It serves as one of the platforms for community-based volunteering where Filipino volunteers assist in the empowerment process of their own area.
