PNVSCA representatives Rizalene Velacruz, Sheena Alcala and Iñigo Lazar joined the National Economic and Development Authority Regional Office 3 (NEDA 3) in an outreach program for the less fortunate children, who are under the care of Bahay at Yaman ni San Martin de Porres, Inc. (BYSMDP, Inc.) in Bustos, Bulacan. The organized event is part of NEDA 3’s Gender and Development (GAD) activities that aim to promote equal participation of women, men and children in the development through gender mainstreaming.

The outreach program started with a thanksgiving mass officiated by the BYSMDP, Inc. Mission Director Fr. Florentino S. Concepcion, known to many as Father Boyet. After the mass, Bro. Vincent Ordiales gathered everyone in the function hall and gave the floor to the BYSMDP, Inc. kids, who showcased their dance moves. It was a touching event as the NEDA III Regional Director Ver Santos and NEDA staff got up from their seats and danced with the kids to the rhythm of a lively dance performance.
Still in a celebratory mood, Director Santos and the PNVSCA personnel awarded a certificate of recognition to Search for Outstanding Volunteers (SOV) 2016 regional awardee, Mr. Robert G. Tiangco. One of the nine regional winners of the Search, Mr. Tiangco was recognized for his commendable voluntary work of establishing the Damascus Foundation, Inc. to guide substance abusers who seek help in their desire to quit their addiction.
Afterward, the NEDA III employees played a short video presentation for the birthday celebration of Director Santos. Upon leaving, everyone enjoyed taking photos with the kids of the shelter, while the children waved goodbye to their new-found friends.
