As part of its commitment to the government’s Gender and Development (GAD) Program, PNVSCA conducted an in-house training workshop for Agency staff on 26-27 January 2017 at the PNVSCA Bulwagan Bayanihan. The training workshop aimed to provide the participants with the knowledge and skills on gender analysis using the Harmonized GAD Guidelines and how these can be used in the preparation of the Agency GAD plans and budget.
Ms. Jemelle Zamora-Milanes facilitated the training through a combination of lectures and workshops.
A major output of the training was an initial gender audit which resulted in the identification of gaps and corresponding strategies and activities to implement GAD mainstreaming in the Agency. Among these are strengthening Agency policies, provision of resources and enabling mechanisms, enhancing advocacy activities including information and education materials, integrating GAD in major programs, projects and activities, and formulating a Human Resource Development Program.
Executive Director Joselito C. de Vera enjoined the staff to use the training both as a guide in the Agency’s forward planning as well as in adopting a gender-sensitive and gender-responsive environment at PNVSCA.
